Space still available for art and crafts June 20

June 20, the day of the Rowan Arts Council’s Easy Street Arts Festival is also called “Day of the Arts” in Salisbury. We will be having our own mini-festival that same day. We’re calling it “Hop, Skip and Jump” because we’re just a hop, skip and jump from Easy Street. Lee Street will be closed to traffic, and we’re thinking of ways to lure festival goers to walk down to our part of town.

We are going to have tables set up in the black box for art and craft sales from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The cost to reserve a table for yourself is $10 for the day. We have four slots left. If you are interested, contact Jacqui Schuberth, rajschu@yahoo.com or 704-633-5107.

We will also have free entertainment on our stage. At 11 a.m., the Rowan Homeschool Association will present a variety show. At noon, magician Buddy Farnan presents “It’s Fun to be Fooled.” At 2 p.m., Kalima’s bellydance students will perform.

We will also provide sidewalk chalk for anyone, any age, who wants to decorate the pavement while the street is closed. we hope to have a lot of people help turn the sidewalk and street into a giant work of art.

There will also be a food vendor in the gravel lot next to our place. And I hear there might be a drum circle in the 300 block of N. Lee Street.

Bring the family and have a good time.
